In this type of relationship, there are no permanent ties. The man visits the woman from time to time, oftentimes for sexual intercourse. Children born in such relationships are termed as being illegitimate as they are born out of wedlock.
In visiting relationships there is a high possibility of the couple breaking up. Long absences and lack of commitment usually stem from the man only being interested in sexual favors. Once this is withheld or if there is a quarrel the man simply ends the relationship and does not return. If the woman has children for the man she is often left to raise them on her own.
